Steps for using HijackThis! Manual Spyware removing software:


Step 1 Follow the tutorial for Removing Spyware

Step 2 Download HijackThis! Extract this to a folder, C:\HJT is the preferred folder.

Step 3

Click "Do a system scan and save a log file"

Step 4

This is the ever so important log that if you were seeking help from someone online you'd need to copy and paste to them. (Select all of the text by pressing Control-A, copy by pressing Control-C, paste to an email, or forum by pressing Control-V). Come to our Spyware Forum to paste your Hijackthis! Log and get help.

Step 5

You will find the spyware listed in the menu and put a check mark next to it. If you do not know what you are doing, you will need someone else to tell you which ones to remove.

Step 6

This is a sample of a file that was going to be removed, you then click "Fix checked" which will remove all of the checked entries. Verify that all of the entries checked are the ones you REALLY want to remove. Removing wrong entries MAY cause your system to not function correctly or not function at all.

Step 7

Click yes if you are sure you want to remove the checked entries. Repeat process to look at the registry entries again by starting back at Step 5 and clicking "Scan."
