Ad-Aware Installation Tutorial

Do Not Forget to Backup any data before beginning!!
Steps 1-8 can be completed in standard Windows Mode and Steps 9-13 should be completed in SafeMode
It is recommended to complete all of the steps in SafeMode (with networking)

Step 1. Download Ad-Aware by clicking here. You can either purchase the software or click "Download & Buy" at the top and then click "Download Free." If you want to use the non-commercial free edition.

Start the download and click "run" when prompted.



Step 2.


If you are running Windows XP SP2 you'll get something like this, click Run again.



Step 3.



Click Next.



Step 4.


Accept the agreement and click next.



Step 5.

Click next if this is where you want it to install.



Step 6.

Click next.



Step 7.

Next Again.



Step 8.

Uncheck the circled boxes and make sure that "Update definition file now" is checked and click FINISH



Step 9.

Start a scan - If you just entered into safe mode, you'll need to run Adaware to get to this part, should be an icon on your desktop or you can run adaware by going Start -> All Programs (or Programs) -> Lavasoft Ad-Aware SE Personal -> Ad-Aware SE Personal.



Step 10.

Select a Full System Scan and click Next! Be patient, after this it will take about 10-20 minutes to run.



Step 11.

Once it is DONE you will click next to see what it found.



Step 12.

Click to mark each field or RIGHT click and select "Select All Objects" to check all boxes and click NEXT.



Step 13.

Click OK to remove the object Ad-Aware found.
